Reflections on the path: a living continuity, not a nostalgia. What follows are fragments of a wisdom that is only completed when it is walked.
Sumak Kawsay
Sumak Kawsay
It is not a philosophy one possesses, but a way of walking. Living well is not accumulating, but standing in right relationship with the earth, the community and the spirit. It is the fullness that arises when nothing is out of place.
Ética
Ethics
Ancestral ethics is not dictated: it is embodied. It does not ask what is permitted, but what keeps alive the web that sustains us. To act well is to ensure the weave between beings does not tear.
Servicio
Service
Knowledge that is not placed in service becomes a burden. The Kuraka does not hoard power: he distributes it. To serve is not to renounce oneself, but to recognise that one exists only within a larger body: the community.
Reciprocidad
Reciprocity
All that is received is returned. The water we drink, the fire that warms us, the word that heals us: nothing is free, everything is a sacred loan. To live well is to learn to give back with the same generosity with which we have been given.
Responsabilidad sagrada
Sacred responsibility
To be a guardian of knowledge is to answer for it before those who will come. Sacred responsibility is not a burden imposed from outside: it is the response of one who has understood that memory, if not tended, goes out.
"To heal is not to return to what we were. It is to remember what we never ceased to be."
